13.2.2026 | In the Gulf of Finland and the Archipelago Sea, there are 18 restricted sea areas which usually also contain a military area. Military areas are surrounded by a 100 metre movement restriction zone. Coastal Fleet consists of Headquarters and four squadrons: 4th Mine Countermeasures Squadron, 6th and 7th Surface Warfare Squadrons and 8th Service Support Squadron. 5.6.2024 | The Finnish Navy will participate in exercise BALTOPS24 organized in the Baltic Sea from 5 to 20 June with vessels, coastal troops and staff officers on different command echelons. Troops from 17 countries will be involved in the exercise the total strength being some 6600 soldiers. 26.10.2023 | A detachment from the United States Marine Corps, Combat Logistics Battalion 6 has arrived in Finland for a time of approximately two months. The detachment will train together with Nyland Brigade from the end of October until the beginning of December. 14.9.2022 | On Wednesday, September 14, 1,303 conscripts will end their conscript service and be transferred to the reserve. Now 84 of the returning are women. 23.9.2016 | 4 - 6 October 2016 an international Conference on Operational Maritime Law will be held at the Navy Command Finland in Turku as a cooperation between the Finnish Navy and the NATO accredited Centre of Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters (COE CSW). 31.10.2018 | Northern Coasts 2018 has gathered together 4 000 soldiers from 13 countries. Among other things the exercise command takes responsibility of the logistics in order to keep the forces battle ready. In this exercise there is a logistic task group supplementing the organic logistics of the task groups. Logistic task group is formed from units of Coastal Fleet and Coastal Brigade.
