Multinational mine countermeasures exercise in Germany

The Coastal Fleet is participating in the international BALTIC MCM 1/24 mine countermeasures exercise in Germany from 11 to 21 March 2023.

In the exercise led by the German Navy, personnel of the Coastal Fleet’s 4th Mine Countermeasures Squadron serve on board German vessels.

The aim of the exercise is to train naval mine countermeasures tactics, procedures and command. The exercise also supports the interoperability of the participating troops.

The troops participating in the exercise are from NATO member nations. Besides Finland, troops from at least Estonia and Holland take part in the exercise. The total strength of the exercise is about 250 persons.
