The Adjutant General of Virginia visited Finland

The Adjutant General of Virginia, Major General James W. Ring, visited Finland on 3-4 February 2025. The visit was hosted by the Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki.

The objective of the visit was to develop the State Partnership Program between the Virginia National Guard and the Finnish Defence Forces on a concrete level. The key focus was on the army point of view as well as expanding the army exercise activities together in the cold weather environment. The State Partnership Program enhances the Finnish Army’s exercise activities, education and training while deepening the co-operation of functional areas and competence development between the Finnish Defense Forces and Virginia National Guard.

During his time in Finland, Major General Ring visited the Defence Command and the Army Command, and familiarized himself with Finnish Special Operations Forces and helicopter operations in Utti Jaeger Regiment.
