14.1.2026 | The Squadron 2020 programme is progressing as planned. Steel cutting for the fourth Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvette has commenced, and the keel of the third vessel has been laid in accordance with naval tradition at the Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) shipyard. With these milestones, construction of all vessels included in the programme is now underway.

Nordic Cadet Meeting (NOCA) will be held in Turku on 7-11 August 2024. NOCA is an annual sports and seminar event for naval cadets, organized by each Nordic country in alternate years.

14.1.2026 | Genomförandet av Flottilj 2020-projektet fortskrider enligt plan. Stålskärningen för den fjärde flerfunktionskorvetten i Pohjanmaa-klassen har inletts och kölen till det tredje fartyget har lagts enligt tradition vid Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) varv. Därmed är byggandet av samtliga fartyg i projektet nu i gång.

Marinens årsdag firas söndagen den 9 juli i Raseborg. Publiken har möjlighet att bekanta sig med Marinens fartyg redan lördagen den 8 juli i Norra hamnen. Under den egentliga festdagen står förutom materielutställning även musik på programmet.  För arrangemangen ansvarar Nylands brigad. 

Captain (N) Sauli Rimmanen will assume the duties of Commander of the Coastal Fleet on 1 February 2025. Rimmanen will transfer to the task from Navy Command Finland where he has been serving as Chief of Staff. The change of command ceremony will be held at Pansio Base on 30 January 2025.

The National Parade of the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held in Hanko on 4 June 2024. In addition to a review of troops and pass in review, the programme also includes an equipment display, boat rides, an aerobatic air display and a MILjazz Tour concert, among other things. Admission to the events is free.

21.5.2025 | The first of the Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvettes to be built for the Navy has been launched in Rauma. In early May, the vessel was moved from the construction hall to the dock basin where the building and outfitting of the vessel continue. A festive launch ceremony was celebrated in Rauma on 21 May.

11.4.2024 | The building of the first multi-purpose corvette included in the Squadron 2020 project has advanced to the keel laying phase. A traditional keel laying ceremony was celebrated at Rauma shipyard on Thursday 11 April 2024.

11.4.2024 | Byggandet av Flottilj 2020-projektets första multifunktionskorvett har framskridit och därmed var det dags för kölsträckning. En traditionsenlig kölsträckningsceremoni firades på skeppsvarvet i Raumo torsdagen den 11.4.2024.
