  5. 13.2.2026 | In the Gulf of Finland and the Archipelago Sea, there are 18 restricted sea areas which usually also contain a military area. Military areas are surrounded by a 100 metre movement restriction zone. This restriction also applies to anyone moving on the ice in winter.

  6. The Finnish Defence Forces will deploy staff officers to the European Union’s Naval Force EUNAVFOR Operation Aspides established in February 2024, and to the US-led Operation Prosperity Guardian launched in December 2023, both of them active in the Red Sea and its adjacent areas. The objective of the operations is to secure free and safe navigation in the Red Sea.

  9. The National Parade of the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held in Hanko on 4 June 2024.
