The National Parade of the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces will be held in Hanko on 4 June 2024. In addition to a review of troops and pass in review, the programme also includes an equipment display, boat rides, an aerobatic air display and a MILjazz Tour concert, among other things. Captain (N) Sauli Rimmanen will assume the duties of Commander of the Coastal Fleet on 1 February 2025. Rimmanen will transfer to the task from Navy Command Finland where he has been serving as Chief of Staff. The change of command ceremony will be held at Pansio Base on 30 January 2025.

The autumn’s main exercise Freezing Winds 22 to be led by the Finnish Navy will take place from 22 November -2 December 2022. Troops from the Finnish Navy, Army and Air Force as well as a great number of international partners will take part in this international naval exercise.

14.1.2026 | The Squadron 2020 programme is progressing as planned. Steel cutting for the fourth Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvette has commenced, and the keel of the third vessel has been laid in accordance with naval tradition at the Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) shipyard. With these milestones, construction of all vessels included in the programme is now underway.

17.10.2024 | A detachment from the United States Marine Corps, Marine Rotational Force unit, led by Combat Logistics Battalion 8, has arrived in Finland and will train together with Nyland Brigade until the end of December. The detachment with a strength of 200 Marines will be stationed in Nyland Brigade and it will mainly operate within the Brigade´s training areas.

Exercise Atrain 23, led by the Coastal Brigade, will be held 26 May - 2 June 2023. The exercise activities will concentrate on the coast of the Gulf of Finland and the sea areas between the Hanko Peninsula and Hamina.

The Finnish Navy 2024 spring main exercise Helka 24 will be held from 23 to 31 May 2024. The Navy will train execution of naval operations incl. laying of sea mines, as well as transfer of troops and combat tasks in the archipelago and on the coast.
