Coastal Fleet to participate in exercise Dynamic Move 2024
The Finnish Navy’s Coastal Fleet is to participate in the international mine countermeasures exercise Dynamic Move 2024 in Belgium from 22 January to 2 February. Dynamic Move is an annual, command-post exercise, which is led by NATO Allied Maritime Command.
Finnish participants are from the Coastal Fleet’s 4th Mine Countermeasures Squadron.
- Exercise Dynamic Move is familiar to us since we have been participating in it for several years, but this is the first time we take part as one of the allies, says Commander of the 4th Mine Countermeasures Squadron, Commander Henri Kummala. In the exercise he is the Commander of an international Task Unit
The exercise aims to train naval mine countermeasures tactics, procedures and command. The exercise also supports the interoperability of the participating troops.
- Dynamic Move has always been important to us because it has supported the Coastal Fleet’s Katanpää-class Mine Hunters’ participation in activities together with the NATO’s Standing Mine Countermeasures Group 1. At the same time, the exercise supports developing Finnish national defence, says Commander Kummala.
